Tools for architects working in SketchUp©
These are tools that I made for my own use, tools that I longed for
in SketchUp. They help perform tasks that we as architects often do,
but might as well be done by a machine. They are made to make our
work in SketchUp more efficient.
Most of these are not free but they will save you many precious
work hours.
They are all written entirely in Ruby, they contain icons and
cursors in classic SketchUp style as well as instructions in the
status bar. They work much like what you would expect of a standard
SketchUp tool, using the VCB instead of dialogs.
The tools will be available to you instantly after purchase. Please
make sure to post your correct email address as the product will be
sent as an attachment to you. Payment is administered through Paypal
but you need not be a member.
If, for some reason, you should not be satisfied with the products
please write me a mail at
info@rubits.com telling me why and I will refund you your
purchase.

Massing Box Tool
Lets you draw boxes by specifying area and/or
proportions.
Includes toolbutton and cursor.
See demonstration
here.

Area Scale
Scale any shape to a specified area.
Includes toolbutton
See demonstration
here.
Texture Tools
These tools will let you work more efficiently with
textures. Sure, you can use the standard texture position tool
in Sketchup, but with these tools you can manage these trivial
tasks with a single click. They will work on both individual
faces, collections of faces or groups. These are two tools in
one package.

Turn Texture
Lets you turn textures 90 degrees on faces with a
single click. Very useful when working with linear textures
sunch as wood, bricks or sheet metal.
Includes toolbutton.

Randomize Texture Position
Randomizes the placement of textures on faces with a
single click. Great for making your textures look more natural,
e.g. when you have a row of columns and they all have the same
texture in the same position. This tool will randomize the
position on them all individually.
Includes toolbutton.

Unit Switch (free)
Switch easily between 2 different units. Apply a shortcut to this
script and you can change units by a single keystroke.
You can change both units using the regular settings in the Units section of
the Model Info dialog. The changes you make will only apply to the current
unit. The tool also remembers precision settings.
Includes toolbutton.

Random Selection (free)
It is very difficult to act truly random, so this
will help you!
There are many random actions that can be applied to a
collection of objects. Color, scale, move, grouping, anything
basically. Instead of making a multitude of different scripts to
perform all these random actions, you can have one script to
randomly select a specified number of objects. That is what this
tool does.
First you make a selection of the objects among which you wish
to randomly select, then you type in the percentage of the
selection or a number of objects to keep in the selection and
the tool will then keep that amount of objects in your
selection.

Scale Ruler
1/100? 1/500? 1/30? 1/64? This tool measures length in
any scale you specify. It can be particularly useful when making
real models. You can also resize the model to the specified
scale. Furthermore, by pressing Tab you can switch to reverse
scale, so if you have a model in 1/200 scale you can turn in
back into 1/1.
Includes toolbutton and cursor.
